Get ready Class of 2027. If you are looking for The Woodlands senior photography you are in the right place. I know summer just started and you are just super excited to be out of school. Finding your senior photographer should not be a chore. But something that you are looking forward to. I know that there are a ton of photographers out there. Lots of people to choose from. But I am going to help you decide what it is that you need. And hopefully at the end you will be ready to book a session with me.
You start with a simple Google search and the choices just keep coming. Or maybe your mom posts on a local Facebook post for a rec and before you know it hundreds of photographers are messaging you about your session. But before you do all that consider what you are looking for in a photographer.
When are you looking for Senior Photography?
It is best to start early. And some of you NEED to take photos in the summer. (I am looking at you Cooper seniors.) The earlier you book your photographer the better your chances are at you getting the date you want.
Fall is a very busy time for photographers, and so is spring. So it is best to reach out early to get in our schedules sooner rather than later. The saying the early bird gets the worm is true for a reason. So EARLY equals best when it comes to booking your session.
What kind of Senior session are you looking for?
If you are looking for natural light, of camera flash, golden hour, studio, editorial, etc there is a photographer for you. If you have a Pinterest board with inspiration look for someone that matches your vibe.
When all the pictures on your inspiration board are of girls running in a field, or flowers all around. Then the photographer is only works in a studio is probably not the photographer for you. ALWAYS look at their work before you hire someone. Your pictures will probably like what they are showing in their website.
What are you going to use your Senior photos for?
Most people use their senior photos for grad announcements. Then there is also the fact that we all want awesome photos to share on social media. But there are other uses you can have for your senior photos. And the sooner you know what they are the better prepared you will be.
A lot of sororities and fraternities will have you submit at least a headshot. Sororities might also ask for a full body shot. There are also senior ads. These are in the yearbook and are purchased by parents to celebrate their senior. I honestly think it’s super cute and I love going through all of them. Some scholarships will also ask that you submit a picture of yourself (and why not send the best photo possible).
These are just three of the question you should be asking yourself before you hire anyone to do your photos. Once you have the answer you can find the best fit for you. And I hope that someone is me!
