When to schedule your senior photos?

When Should You Book Your Senior Session?

This is for the upcoming Class of 2027. When should you book your senior session?  Well, that depends. What are vibes are you looking for? What will you use the photos for? How EXTRA are you?

These are all simple questions that the answers will help you decide when to book your session. Everyone has different needs and wants. And that will determine the perfect time of year for your session.

I do like to tell people that an early session means you will get to use your photos more than if you do a late session. If you book a summer or early fall session then you will have your photos for your yearbook ad.  You can also use them for extra curricular activities (end of season banquets, etc). When should you book your senior session?

Is summer the right time for my senior  session?

I know we live in Houston and the heat can be overwhelming. A lot of people are scared to book a summer session. And they can be hot. But they can also be magic. the greens are deeper than in the spring. The grass is taller, and a lot of places are emptier. The long days also help with a senior’s busy schedule. We can do the session early in the morning, before the heat gets crazy. Or late in the afternoon. When the sunsets and it starts cooling down. I love a summer session (but I do bring extra water with me so I can stay hydrated LOL).

Are you a fall session person?

Are cozy sweaters and warm colors your vibe? Then a late fall might be for you. It takes a while here in Houston but we do have a fall. Short and sweet but it’s here. And the cool thing about fall sessions is that most of the time you can sport a fall outfit and something more “summery” at the same session. That is one of the perks of the long summers here. Even when we think the heat is over it comes right back.

Is winter more your speed?

Senior year in downtown Houston

I am a winter girl. LOVE the cold weather. I love sweaters and sweatshirts. Warm drinks and blankets. Winter can be totally cool here too. I think winter is a great time to explore the city. There are so many cool places to take photos around Houston. From a cool alley, to a busy downtown street, winter is the time to hit the town. And if you time it right you might even get some twinkle lights. (Perfect for a night session)

Last chance for photos before graduation!

wild flowers spring session for seniors

Spring is it! If you have waited until spring this is your last chance to get senior photos before graduation. Early spring can be tricky as all the greenery is starting to come back. But if we get some good rain we will get tons of wild flowers. Wild flowers can be AWESOME for your senior session. You just have to know that spring is  fast and furious. There is lot’s going on and the weather can change in a heartbeat.  It can be warm and sunny one minute and windy, cold, and rainy the next. Sometimes we will reschedule and sometimes we will get caught in the rain (it has only happened once. One of my favorite sessions).
